Vilayat Khan

Vilayat Khan (1928–2004) was a renowned Indian sitar virtuoso and a prominent figure in the genre of Hindustani classical music. Born in Gwalior, he was a descendant of the Imdadkhani gharana, a traditional school of sitar playing. Khan was instrumental in popularizing the sitar both in India and internationally, blending traditional techniques with innovative styles.
